Savage Blaze
As we consider the technological future, the old question has resurfaced – how do we define life? Interestingly, most definitions of what it means to be alive can also be applied to fire. Anyone who has watched the devastating way a wild fire can consume all in its path would agree that it has all the traits of a ravenous beast.
Fire has always held a fascination for us. It can warm us and entrance us. Watching the colours dancing within the flames of a night-time bonfire is mesmerising. But those same flames that enthral us so much, also terrify us with their appetite for destruction. Do beauty and danger always go hand-in-hand?
