The sea is often used as a symbol of the different emotions each of us must contend with. Sometimes placid, easy to navigate, sometimes stormy and dangerous.

The sea is not only about such broad notions but also about rhythm. The daily and monthly changes in the tide reflect our own hormonal cycles. In a shorter time span than that, the waves endlessly rise and fall in the same way our heartbeat regulates our lives.

When one sea or channel is at peace another may be filled with rage. But whatever forces are driving these massive changes, all parts of the ocean are connected by the same movement of the water, as we are all connected by the rhythms of our lives.
